Delhi Blast: From Faridabad to Red Fort — The mystery trail of the Hyundai i20

Before the Red Fort explosion, the white Hyundai i20 was seen roaming around Connaught Place and Mayur Vihar — new details emerge in the Delhi blast probe.

Delhi Blast: Suspicious Hyundai i20 Parked 12 Days at Faridabad Medical College

New Delhi, November 12: In the ongoing Delhi blast investigation, shocking new revelations have emerged. The white Hyundai i20 used in the Red Fort explosion was reportedly parked for 12 days at Al-Falah Medical College in Faridabad before the incident.

According to investigation sources, the car remained parked inside the college campus between October 29 and November 10. What raises further suspicion is that another vehicle belonging to Dr. Muzammil Ahmed, who has already been arrested, was parked right beside it. Although the suspect car was registered under Dr. Shahin Shahid, investigators believe it was being used by Muzammil.

The latest CCTV trail reveals that before reaching Red Fort, the Hyundai i20 was spotted at Connaught Place and Mayur Vihar, two of Delhi’s busiest areas — leading investigators to believe that the vehicle might have been conducting reconnaissance (reki) before the blast.

CCTV shows the car in Connaught Place and Mayur Vihar

Sources confirm that on Monday afternoon, around 2:30 PM, CCTV footage from Connaught Place captured the Hyundai i20 driving through the area. Minutes later, another camera in Mayur Vihar recorded the same vehicle.

This has strengthened the suspicion that the car was part of a larger terror conspiracy aimed at surveying potential targets in Delhi. Apart from these locations, officials have also obtained footage showing the car in other parts of the national capital, suggesting a well-planned movement across the city.

From Faridabad to Delhi — every move under the scanner

Investigators have reconstructed the car’s route. On Monday morning around 7:30 AM, the Hyundai i20 was seen near Asian Hospital in Faridabad. At 8:13 AM, it crossed the Badarpur Toll Booth and entered Delhi. Just seven minutes later, at 8:20 AM, it was recorded again by a CCTV camera near Modi Mill petrol pump in the Okhla area.

According to primary investigation, the car was allegedly driven by Dr. Umar Nabi, who is now the prime suspect in the Delhi blast case. A forensic DNA test is being conducted to confirm his identity.

DNA test to confirm identity, suicide attack not ruled out

Officials have already collected DNA samples from Umar Nabi’s mother to match them with the remains of the deceased driver found in the Hyundai i20. The final report is awaited, which could confirm if Umar himself was behind the wheel during the explosion.

Though no conclusive evidence has been found yet to label the Delhi blast a suicide attack, investigators are not ruling out the possibility. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already confirmed that the explosion was the result of a “planned conspiracy.”

More CCTV footage under review — conspiracy deepens

Delhi Police and intelligence agencies have collected footage from multiple cameras across the city. The movement of the Hyundai i20 through Connaught Place, Mayur Vihar, Faridabad, Badarpur, and Okhla is being analyzed frame by frame.

Preliminary evidence suggests the car might have been assembled or modified in Faridabad before it was driven into Delhi. Officials are also investigating whether there were multiple blast targets planned apart from Red Fort.

As the Delhi blast investigation deepens, investigators believe they are inching closer to unmasking the entire network behind the explosion.
